Mental Health First Aid – Refresher 1/2 Day

🔹 Who This Is For

Anyone who’s previously completed a Mental Health First Aid or mental health awareness course and wants to refresh their skills, boost confidence, and reconnect with the core principles.

🔹 What You’ll Revisit

  • Key signs of distress, anxiety, depression, and trauma

  • The ALGEE framework and how to apply it in real situations

  • How to start supportive conversations with confidence

  • Boundaries, burnout, and self-care for helpers

  • Updates on local support services and signposting options

  • Space to reflect, share, and rebuild confidence

🔹 Course Format

  • Duration: 3.5 hours

  • Facilitator: Jamie Challenger – trainer, poet, and mental health advocate

  • Delivery: In-person (South Yorkshire & surrounding areas) or online

  • Certificate of Refresher Completion provided

  • Group reflection: “What’s changed since your last training?”

  • Scenario-based practice and roleplay

  • Rebuilding confidence with practical tools

  • Optional closing poem or spoken word piece
